Explore Portsmouth, New Castle, Rye, Kittery, and the beaches beyond in style, on a Beach Cruiser or a Motorized Beach Cruiser. Wanderlust Bike Rentals is located at historic Strawbery Banke in Portsmouth, NH across the street from the Freedom Flag Pole at Prescott Park on the Piscataqua River, near Market Square.
We have a selection of Beach Cruisers and Motorized Beach cruisers to choose from. Walk-in's are welcome. You may also call ahead to schedule your reservation.We provide a helmet and lock for each bike rental. We also provide maps with suggested routes for self guided tours. There are several beaches, parks and historic forts within biking distance of Portsmouth. Leave your car at your Inn or at the parking garage downtown and cruise the area in style on a bike.
Bike Rentals Walk in's are welcome. We are open from 9am to 6pm, 7 days a week, weather permitting. We will deliver bikes to hotels, Inn's and B&B's within the downtown Portsmouth area. Please call ahead to make arrangements and reservations. Suggested Routes Wanderlust at Strawbery Banke is the perfect place to begin a self guided tour down the Piscataqua River towards New Castle Island on Route 1B. Our first suggested stop is nearly 2.5 miles down the river to the Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse overseeing the mouth of the Piscataqua. Here you can explore Fort Constitution, originally known as Fort William and Mary, where on the nights December 14 and 15 of 1774, the Sons of Liberty stormed the British fort and captured 16 light cannon and 97 barrels of gunpowder, some of which later made its way to the Battle of Bunker Hill in June, 1775. There is also local access to New Castle Beach and Great Island Common Beach and and since you are on a bike, you avoid the parking fee's to access these beaches. |
